Steering Committee Meeting Notes from Jan 22, 2018
« on: January 22, 2018, 08:00:11 pm »
7:17pm to 8:00pm

In Attendance: Jeremy, Adrian Bo, Adrian Ba, Michelle, David L, Terry G, Devon, Mark, Dale

* Devon and Mark are interested in volunteering
* David: BASIS student senior projects: going to use Xerocaft to complete them.
* ACTION ITEM: Update the front door sign.

AGENDA:

1. Adrian Bo: Consensus and why it's bad
2. Adrian Bo: Next Hack your Hackerspace event

MINUTES:

1. Adrian Bo: Consensus and why it's bad
- Though consensus is counterproductive, do-ocracy is worse.
- Adrian Ba: Not everything should require consensus.
- David: Getting consensus from EVERYONE is impossible and bogs down projects.
- Adrian Bo: "I can't ask others about this because they'll shut it down" is something we need to stop.
- For example, any construction that adds to or takes from the building must go through David, Mike R, Dale and Adrian Ba.
- Don't do things on your own. Ask someone else for input.
- Adrian Ba: A list of what requires Shop Manager, Board, consensus approval, etc would help.
- Adrian is going to introduce new wording to restructure overall command structure of Xerocraft.

2. Adrian Bo: Next Hack your Hackerspace event
- Adrian Ba: Battlestation for jewelry needs to be reassembled so Adrian can rewire it.
- Adrian Bo: Put the Xerocraft backlit metal logo back up.
- Get rid of Jeremy's display case? Or move it to the left of the front door.
